Track Matte

place a video clip onto a composition and drag a black and white image over the top. i have used both rectangle and oval. Drag one of these black and white images over the clip to create a new layer for it. In the track matte on the video clip, change the setting to Luma Matte and the white of the image will become see-through. You can use an still image to decorate the frame if you set it as the background layer.
